Wellbeing is a bigger topic than EVER right now, and ironically enough, one of the biggest enemies to a healthy immune system is STRESS. ????
And, this season, plus being in 2020, stress is just a lot right now.
A couple quick ways to tell your brain it’s ok!
🌟Tell yourself “It’s okay.”. I love to tell myself “It is well with my soul.”
🌟Long, slow, deep breathing!???? My favorite breathing exercise is called Box Breathing. It's simple and a great way to calm your nervous system and re-focus. This is how it works. Visualize a box. Take a deep breath from your belly in, and visualize drawing 1 line of the box. Hold the breath for 1 second. Exhale and draw (with your mind) the second line of the box. Hold the breath for 1 second. Inhale, drawing the 3rd line of the box. Hold the breath for 1 second. Exhale, drawing the 4th line of the box. Hold the breath for 1 second. Begin to breathe normally. Feeling more at ease, and relaxed. Take inventory of how you feel! It's like a quick mini-vacay!
🌟Gratitude! ???????? Research has proven that the body cannot be blessed and stressed at the same time! Cool science right?! When you are feeling your physiological reactions to stress (i.e shallow breathing, hot, clenched jaws, etc) take 30 seconds to think about what you are grateful for and notice how you begin to feel more at ease.
What works for you??
Who is in the pic? This is my daughter, Brenae (4), and my son Braden (a few months old...lol...I dont remember exactly how many months).
